Coimbatore: The RS Puram police arrested a man who swindled lakhs of money from several people promising to fetch jobs in London, using his foreign contacts, and threatened applicants when questioned of his cheating.
Adityan from RS Puram area of Coimbatore has a postgraduate from Singapore. Reportedly Adityan promised his close circle of friends to get a high-paying job in London, stating he has a good number of connections in other countries. Believing his words, many paid Adityan to make arrangements for a UK visa and land a job in a London company.
Two IT employees, Karthik and Prabhakaran, paid Rs 38 lakh to him, but Adityan did not fetch them any job. When questioned, he also started threatening them after which the two lodged complaints with the RS Puram police. The police officers arrested Adityan on the complaint and are carrying out an investigation.
