Coimbatore: The Town Panchayat worker who was undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital here after suffering serious injuries in an accident near Palakkad Service Road, succumbed to his injuries.
Bharathi, 58 is a native of Madukkarai Muslim Colony, and has been working as the water supplier in Thirumalaiyampalayam Town Panchayat for the past 20 years. Bharathi left for work as usual yesterday, 16th March, and was returning home on Palakkad service road in his motorbike.

Reportedly, as he took a right turn to approach a two-wheeler workshop, a bike from behind collided with his motorbike.Selvakumar of Sundarapuram, who was riding another bike, stumbled and fell off the bike. Bharathi suffered severe head injuries in the accident. The public rescued him and sent him to Coimbatore government hospital for treatment.
Bharathi was admitted to intensive care but succumbed to his injuries early this morning.
