The Corporation officers conducted a raid at the shops in Raja Street, Oppankkra Street in Central Zone of Coimbatore on Tuesday, 15th March. The officials seized about 75 kg of one-use plastics, from 40 stores and imposed a fine of Rs.12,510 to the storekeepers for the usage of banned plastic bags.

The Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Raja Gopal Sunkara held an inspection, accompanied by Corporation Urban Welfare Officer Satish Kumar, Central Zone Assistant Commissioner, Shankar, Regional Health Officer Thirumal, Health Inspector Salaithraj, and Corporation officials.
