Tirupur: The Tirupur Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department officials restored land worth Rs.6 crores that were encroached by public in Uthukuli, Sengapalli regions.

About 1.55 acres of agricultural land belonging to the Perumal temple at Sarkar Periyapalayam in Uthukuli Taluk of Tirupur district was occupied by some local residents for several years.

The officials of The Tirupur District Hindu Charitable Endowments Department filed cases to recover the land from the individuals who occupied the lands illegally in the High Court and the investigation was being carried out.

A team headed by Deputy Commissioner of Charitable Endowments, Tirupur, Selvaraj, Monday, 14th March, recovered the land with the help of the revenue department and police and also acquired 4.6 acres of land occupied by individuals near Sengapalli.
