The Sulur Police officers led by Inspector Madhaiyyan conducted searches In Sultanpet areas, based on the illegal sale of Ganja and arrested two people for hoarding 70 kg of Ganja, for sale from the guest workers in Coimbatore, Erode, and Tirupur.
Coimbatore: Two persons were arrested for illegal hoarding and sale of Ganja in Coimbatore. The Sulur police arrested two north Indian Youth for hoarding 70 kg of ganja.
Sulur police received a tip-off that ganja was being sold to workers staying and working in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode districts. The police then formed a team headed by Sulur Inspector of Police Madhaiyyan and conducted an investigation.
Based on reports of people roaming suspiciously near Sultanpet, police conducted an inspection at the Lakshmi Nagar area of Silaikkaraisal. The police caught two guest workers, and interrogated them.
The misleading answers intensified the inquiry, in which the two admitted to hoarding ganja in a bush near a residence there. About 70 kg of cannabis was recovered and the accused are identified as Sivaram Makarana, (40), and Sudarshan Buhan (41) of Odisha.
It was also revealed that both of them were selling ganja to the guest workers working in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode districts. Police seized 70 kg of ganja from them and the two-wheeler.
Investigations are underway.
