The railway police caught hold of two passengers from the north who landed with a dead body covered in a woollen blanket and investigations revealed that the man had died while travelling and the family had arraigned to collect the body from the Tirupur Junction.

Silchar Express train from Silchar in Assam to Coimbatore operates once a week. The train left Silchar on the 8th and arrived in Tirupur on the 10th of March. Reportedly, two guest workers descended from the S3 compartment of the train with a corpse wrapped in a woollen bed sheet.
The railway police noticed this on a surveillance camera, caught and interrogated them.

It was then revealed that the deceased was Arbindrai, 30 of Silchar area, and was working as a security guard in Bengaluru.
Arbindrai had pre-booked tickets from Silchar to Jolarpet. When Arbindrai did not wake up to land in Jolarpet, his co-passengers noticed that he is dead, and when the family was informed of this, they had stated that they will collect Arbind’s body from Tirupur Junction.

Believing this, two people on the train brought the body. The railway police later recovered the body and sent it to Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital. Police said Arbind may have died due to a cardiac arrest. The railway police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
As the incident unfolded at the railway station, it caused panic among the rain passengers at the Railway Station.
