The conformation of 6 Maoists including 2 women spotted in Kerala, in the limits of Kozhikode, Muthukkadu and Thiruvannamula has resulted in increased surveillance in Kerala-Coimbatore border.
Coimbatore: Police are on high alert in the Kozhikode area of Kerala after confirming Maoist movement.
Two days ago, the movement of six Maoists, including two women, was confirmed in Kozhikode, Muthukadu, and Tiruvannamula police limits in Kerala. Following this, police are conducting intensive vehicle searches at border check posts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Vehicles from Kerala and Tamil Nadu are allowed only after a thorough investigation.
Police have advised tribal villagers to inform if there is any movement of new individuals. The Maoist Resistance Task Force is also conducting intensive patrolling in the hill villages.
