The accused wanted in various cases including murder across the state was arrested in Coimbatore and the police have seized 18.5 sovereign gold bars from his possession.
Coimbatore: Murder accused arrested in Coimbatore. Further police investigations however revealed that the Gudalur based man is a prime suspect across Tamil Nadu with various cases registered against him.
Suresh runs a butcher's shop in the Singanallur, Coimbatore. He lives with his family in an apartment in Nandanam Nagar, Singanallur. Suresh reported a theft in August last year at the Singanallur Police Station, while he was at work and his family was at a function.
The police conducted an investigation and the CCTV footage recovered showed a man breaking into Suresh’s house in broad daylight. The man reportedly looted 37-sovereign gold jewellery and 3-lakh cash.
Meanwhile, police were hunting for the robber and received a tip-off stating an unknown person was found roaming in Irugur area. The police officers rounded up the mystery man and further investigation revealed that the person nabbed was Sundar alias Pura Sundar of Gudalur in Nilgiris district. They also seized 18.5 sovereign gold bars made out of the 37-sovereign gold jewelry looted at Suresh's house.
What came as a shock in the investigation is that Sundar is a prime suspect with cases of human trafficking, murder, and theft with various cases registered against him in police stations in multiple locations in the state.
Following this, the Singanallur police registered a case of robbery against Sundar and lodged him in Bhavani branch jail. CCTV footage of Sundar's robbery in broad daylight has been released and is creating a stir.
