The Coimbatore District Child Protection Unit raided a Biryani shop in the Gandhipuram area after receiving information that child labor was employed and rescued a 16-year-old boy from the place, booking a case on the employer.
Coimbatore: A 16-year-old boy employed at a hotel in Coimbatore was rescued by the District Child Protection Committee.
Info was received stating that a boy below 18 years of age was employed at a biryani shop in the Gandhipuram area of Coimbatore. This was followed by a raid by the Coimbatore District Child Protection center, where a 16-year-old boy was found working as a waiter at a biryani shop on Second Street, Gandhipuram.
On learning this, a complaint was lodged with the Kattoor police against biryani shop owner Rajamanickam (42), and the authorities rescued the boy and sheltered him at the reserve. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
