Coimbatore: Councillor Babu of ward 22, Cheranmanagar along with the DMK Student wing Deputy Convenor held field inspections in the area.

DMK Student Wing Deputy Convenor along with the 22nd ward Councillor Babu of Coimbatore Corporation conducted field inspections in residential areas along with corporation officials. The State Transport Corporation officials and employees reside in Cheranmanagar located on Vilankurichi Road. There are 568 houses in three categories, A,B and C and thousands of houses in the surrounding areas. The residents have been facing issues due to the non-repair of the underground sewers in the area for more than a decade. The councillor Babu, reviewed the sewerage canal problems in Cheranmanagar with the deputy organiser of the student.

DMK student wing deputy convenor Prabhakaran said that “A total of 568 houses have been constructed in Cheranmanagar. Due to lack of regular maintenance of sewerage canal structure in this residential area, the entire residential complex is stagnant, with puddle-like water in front of the houses without access to sewage sewerage. This has caused health hazards.”

He added that the people of the region have made various demands for more than a decade but till date the sewerage problem in Cheranmanagar area has not been resolved.
For the first time in 25 years, the DMK now won the elections and he stated that he along with the ward Councillor Babu conducted a field survey with corporation officials on the plight of sewage sewerage canal at Cheranmanagar 4th bus stop and surrounding areas was carried out. Every effort will be made to resolve the issue".
