Coimbatore: The National Commission of Scheduled Classes Vice Chairman Arun Haldar is investigating the communal clash in Ponnanganni village in Coimbatore in which a man was killed.

Ramu, a member of the Depressed Classes, was killed when a clash broke out between the two parties in Ponnangani village near Sulur. Twenty persons have been booked and 14 arrested and jailed in connection with the incident.
There were demands from various quarters that the National Commission of Scheduled Classes should take on the issue and conduct a proper inquiry for a solution. Vice Chairman of The National Commission of Scheduled Classes Arun Haldar personally visited the residence of Ramu, who died in the clash.

Higher officials including Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Selvanagarathinam and District Revenue Officer Leela Alex are part of the inquiry team.
Ramu's family and the villagers of Ponnangani all the parties, the police department are being questioned about the clash.
