The Singanallur police have launched a hunt for the duo who cheated Murugan, an Engineer promising to get a job at the ESI Hospital and swindled Rs.15 lakhs cash.
Coimbatore: A 25-year-old engineer was scammed of Rs.15 lakhs by one of his friends and another woman, who promised to get him a job at the ESI Hospital in Singanallur.
Murugan, (25), of Sulur is the son of Paramasivam of SLS Nagar, is a Mechanical Engineer graduate, and is preparing for government exams. He also runs a fast-food shop in the Sulur in the evening part-time.
Pradeep, son of Nagendran of Sulur is a friend of Murugan informed Murugan that he had a friend Dhanya, who is a government Doctor at the ESI Hospital in Singanallur. Pradeep also stated to Murugan that she was well experienced and would get a job in the state and central government offices if she was paid.

Murugan and Pradeep then visited Dhanya's house in Singanallur and she also promised to get Murugan and his younger brother Vellapandi a job at the ESI hospital.

Reportedly Murugan handed over Rs.15 lakhs as the initial payment, lured by the job offer, to Dhanya, but she kept holding back in fetching the job.
When asked about the delay, reportedly Dhanya threatened Murugan stating she had the acquaintance of the District Collector and the District SP and that complaining on them would be null and void. Murugan lodged a complaint with the Singanallur police station seeking recovery of his money. The police registered a case and are on the hunt for the duo.
Meanwhile, it has come to light that the duo had swindled over Rs 40 lakhs from several people making such promises.
