The Akhil Bharat Netaji Party has demanded the removal of a song, ‘Ullam Uruguthayya’ from the Suriya starrer, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ stating that the lyrics were demeaning the Tamil Lord Murugan
Coimbatore: The Akhil Bharat Netaji Party has demanded the removal of a song from actor Suriya’s latest release, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’.
All India Netaji party has filed a complaint with the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's office seeking removal of the song, ‘Ullam Uruguthayya’ from the Suriya starrer, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ stating that the lyrics were demeaning the Tamil Lord Murugan.
The movie is directed by Pandiraj and the lyricist Yugabharathi penned the lyrics for the song, while music composer D Iman composed the tunes.
Speaking on the issue, party founder Rahul Gandhi said that even though the song had been released several days back, it was only after the release of the film today that it was revealed that it contained scenes that insulted Lord Murugan.
He thus demanded that the song be removed from the film immediately. He also added that Suriya, director Pandiraj, music composer D Iman and lyricist Yugabharathi, who composed words to defame completely aware that it was an invocation song, should be dealt with legally.
“We are also going to file a case in the court. The case would be a lesson to those who defame Hindu gods and beliefs.”
