Aged couple caught stealing from roadside shop in Coimbatore; police send them after warning

An elderly couple, reportedly waiting for the bus at the Gandhipuram bus stand was caught stealing a clock from a shop using the CCTV Footage and the Kattoor police sent them away issuing a strict warning


Coimbatore:An elderly couple, waiting for the bus at the Gandhipuram bus stand were caught stealing a clock from a shop.

Malaikozhundhu runs a cell phone spare parts shop and also sells watches displayed in front of the shop. The Gandhipuram bus stand in Coimbatore has various shops with cell phones, etc. Reportedly, at around 1 pm last afternoon, Wednesday, an elderly couple who were waiting near the shop for a long time, posing to wait for the bus, stole the clock while the shop owner was away.

The footage captured on a CCTV camera installed in the shop, clearly showed the man taking the clock and handing it over to the woman, who carefully put it inside her bag. When another person caught hold of the elderly couple and searched them, the couple was found guilty and they handed them over to the Kattoor police.

Police questioned the elderly couple and later sent them away with a strict warning.
