The city police are on the hunt for the man from Vellore who swindled Rs.23 lakhs from different people introducing himself as influential individual who can fetch government jobs.
Coimbatore: A Vellore-based man cheated people making false promises of getting jobs and swindled Rs 23 lakhs cash. The police are on the hunt for him.
Bose, (64), the son of Satthappa Deva, Director of Shakti Management Service, a company operating in Sungam here, has a lawyer friend from Chennai named Kandasamy. Prakash of Vaniyambadi area of Vellore made acquaintance with Bose through Kandasamy in 2019 and stated that he had great influential friendships, and he can fetch any government job easily.
Reportedly Kandasamy collected lakhs from his friends and acquaintances to Prakash and also stated the matter to Bose. Persuaded Bose had also got money from his relatives and friends telling them of Prakash and assured them that if he needed a government job, he would arrange it immediately. Prakash’s wife had also lured them with energizing words when the couple visited Coimbatore for his back pain treatment
Bose's friends and relatives like John, Dakshina Murthy, Selvaraj, Mohandas, Senthilraj, and others have given up to Rs.23 lakh to Prakash but did not receive any response later. Prakash assured them of getting a job, but there was a change in government.
Everyone, including Bose, demanded a refund of the money. But Prakash failed to do so. Following this, Bose lodged a complaint with Ramanathapuram police station in Coimbatore. On the complaint, the police have registered a case against Prakash, who is absconding after allegedly cheating him of Rs.23 lakh to get a government job.
