Manickam of Rathinapuri was arrested during a vehicle search in Coimbatore by the Rathinapuri police. Manickam, booked under 8 cases, including the sale of ganja.
The police received a tip-off that they had been targeting youth and selling ganja in areas including Rathinapuri and Sivananda Colony for more than a month. Acting on the tip-off, constables Sukandaraja and Muthupandi, led by Rathinapuri Inspector of Police Ramesh Khanna, conducted a vehicle search in the Shastri Nagar area.
Cannabis, stored in folded small packets weighing 1.5 kg was seized by the police. Following this, the police arrested the man and seized the 1.5 kg of ganja.
The accused was then produced in the court.
