The Karpagam College of Engineering celebrated the Women’s Day on 8th March to raise awareness on the status and dignity of women among the faculty and students
Coimbatore: The Karpagam College of Engineering celebrated the Women’s Day on 8th march to raise awareness on the status and dignity of women among the faculty and students.
The International Women’s Day was celebrated at Karpagam College of Engineering College on 8thMarch, 2022. The purpose of celebrating Women’s Day was to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the faculty and students.
A rally was organized in the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” with participation of 150 women, including college students and faculty. The rally was flagged off at Karpagam College of Engineering and culminated at the Upplipalayam Village. The rally was inaugurated by Dr.P.Vijayakumar, Principal, Karpagam College of Engineering.
Placards used in the rally highlighted the importance of Gender Equality. Councillor A. Kalamani was also a part of the event. Competitions were held for students and faculty from 1st March as part of the celebrations. Students and faculty participated in various events like solo dance, group dance, singing, face painting, mehndi etc.
On 8th March 2022 the chief guest Valarmathi Karthikeyan, Novelist and Script Writer addressed the gathering in an online conference. Entertaining cultural events were conducted for faculty and students.
The winners were felicitated and Dr.S.Deepa, coordinator, Women Development Centre delivered the vote of thanks.
