The Tirupur police have apprehended two persons under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offenses Act for alleged kidnap and sexual harassment of a 10th grade girl in Tirupur.
Tirupur: Driver, and an aide have been arrested under the POCSO Act for kidnapping a 15-year-old girl to Kodaikanal and subjecting her to sexual harassment.
Parents of a 15-year-old girl from Mangalam lodged a complaint stating their daughter went missing on the 4th of February. Mangalam police registered a case and launched a search operation.
The police officers tracked down the girl in Kodaikanal near Dindigul district and it was revealed that she had been abducted. Police rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. Ponnusamy, (27), a driver from Ichipatti was arrested for kidnap and sexual harassment of the girl and Sikander Basha, (22), of Kodaikanal Pallipalayam, who was an accomplice, was booked and arrested under the POSCO Act. The incident has created a stir in the area.
