Based on the complaint by a 31-year-old woman of sexual harassment by her advocate Vijayakumar who is the Founder of Kongu Tamilar Peravai, Vijayakumar has been booked under three sections.
Coimbatore: The Kongu Tamilar Peravai Founder, advocate Vijayakumar has been booked for sexual harassment of his woman client.
A 31-year-old woman from the Vedapatti area of Coimbatore has alleged that Vijayakumar had been harassing her mentally and sexually. The woman who had gotten married to Parthiban for the second time last year after a disagreement with her first husband was allegedly cheated of 35 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs. 15 lakh. The woman met Vijayakumar for legal purposes to fight her case in court.
The woman has now complained that Vijayakumar had been sexually harassing her and causing mental torture by creating a ruckus outside her house. She stated that Vijayakumar had earlier agreed to take the case free of charge, but swindled her of Rs. 40,000 and continued to sexually harass her, by summoning her to his office alone. The woman also added that Vijayakumar had written defamatory letters about her, assassinating her character to the lawyers at the bar council to stop them from taking her case, ever since she stopped contacting Vijayakumar.
The Coimbatore Central All Women Police who received the woman's complaint have registered a case against advocate Vijayakumar under three sections including Prevention of Atrocities on Women and Sexual Harassment.
