The Race Course police in Coimbatore have booked Ex Minister SP Velumani, and a section of AIADMK functionaries under three sections, 143, 341, 269, for staging protests flouting the Covid rules.
Coimbatore: Former Minister SP Velumani and a section of AIADMK members have been booked for staging protests violating Covid rules.
As many as eight MLAs including former Minister S P Velumani were booked for protesting in Coimbatore. The former AIADMK Minister Jayakumar was arrested and imprisoned in connection with the attack on a DMK worker in Chennai during elections. He has also been arrested in a further case for allegedly acquiring assets worth Rs 5 crore.
Protests were held across Tamil Nadu to protest against the arrest of former minister Jayakumar on Monday and as a part, a protest was held in Coimbatore led by Ex-Minister SP Velumani. More than 1,000 people, including MLAs, former MLAs, participated in the protest.
