Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences hosts its 10th Graduation Day

Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences hosted its 10th Graduation Day today at its college campus. The graduation ceremony was presided by Dr P Krishnakumar, CEO and Secretary of the Nehru Group of Institutions (NGI). He declared the graduation day open.

Dr P R Balaji, Principal, Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences delivered the welcome address and he also read out the academic report of this college. In his address to the graduates he said

“Academic degree is a milestone in career. However, a degree is not enough. You must all aim at building your skills and abilities. There is plenty of opportunity available in the aviation industry. Dream big and work towards achieving your dreams. On this day, I have just two things to share with you young graduates. One thing is the process of learning must not stop as it is a life-long process and secondly do not forget your alma mater. Stay connected with your college and the teachers.”

Chief guest, Dr. S. Subbiah, Vice Chancellor, Alagappa University, handed over degree certificates to one hundred students. The rank holders of the various departments were presented with a medal, certificate and a cash reward. In his address to the students, Dr. S. Subbiah said “Dear graduates, your parents by their great sacrifices have enabled you to become graduates. Your parents gave everything to you to make you a graduate. Hence, it is time to show your gratitude to them. You must reciprocate their unconditional love for you through your services to them.”

“You have to be grateful to your teachers who are your second parents. The place accorded to guru, teacher in Indian culture is unparallel. Even great emperors bowed their heads before their gurus. Those who respect their teachers alone prosper in their life. On this great occasion, you should think of your mother land India. Ours is a holy land which has produced a great number of visionaries and scientists who have become immortal in their achievements and contributions.”

“Dear graduates, on this occasion, I will give you just three tips. If you follow them, you will reach greater heights. You all must have dreams in your life. First conceive an idea which is really your dream, believe in it and go after it. You will definitely realise your dream. You must also learn the art of time management. All of us have just 24-hours in a day. We must learn to make use of our time judicially. Lastly, be careful in selecting your friends. There are two types of friends, some add to you, while others subtract from you. You need only those who encourage and motivate you. Remember that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. My hearty congratulations to you all on this memorable occasion.”

Professor Muthuswamy and professor Singaravadivelu of this college, teaching, non teaching staff and students of this college participated in this graduation day ceremony.
