Woman dies at CMCH, suspected to have infected by swine flu?

A 36-year-old woman, Sreeja from Thillai Nagar, Kovaipudur in Coimbatore who was undergoing treatment in the special ward of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for prolonged fever passed away yesterday at the hospital. Speculations arise that Sreeja was infected by H1N1 virus (Swine flu) and that has been the reason behind her death.

However, doctors at CMCH have denied swine flu as the reason for her death, as confirmed blood reports are yet to arrive.

Sreeja was admitted to CMCH on 26th December. Prior to that she had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kovaipudur. The doctors of the private hospital had advised them to shift her to CMCH for treatment. Unfortunately, a day after her admission, she passed away.

Residents of Thillai Nagar, Kovaipudur are struck in fear suspecting H1N1 infestation in their area.
