The Mettupalayam road is filled with potholes and as it is constantly raining many have been injured in accidents over the past month and some have died. In a protest led by DYFI Periyanaickenpalayam Union President Gokulakrishnan, slogans were raised calling for speedy completion of the over head bridge and repair of the road.
Coimbatore: A protest and a seedling planting protest were held yesterday in front of the Periyanaickenpalayam bus stand on behalf of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), demanding repair of the Mettupalayam Road, which is filled with potholes.
Completion of the overpass works is taking place at a slow pace. The protest was declared yesterday (30.10.21) as the petition was filed a week ago and no work has been started.
