Police received a tip-off that liquor is being sold for a high price illegally in Valparai. Following this, Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam and Sub Inspector Ilango visited the Kurangumudi tea estate and searched Rajamani's house. Fifty-five bottles of liquor were found and confiscated from him.

Following this, Sub Inspector Ilango and the police led by Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam conducted raids at multiple locations in Valparai, including at the Kurangumudi Tea Estate.
Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam and Sub Inspector Ilango visited the Kurangumudi tea estate and searched Rajamani's house. In the search, fifty-five bottles of liquor were found and confiscated from him. Rajamani was taken to the Valparai police station and interrogated. He was subsequently charged and arrested. Following this, the police produced Rajamani before the Valparai Magistrate. Rajamani is remanded in judicial custody for 15 days as ordered by the Magistrate.
