OTP Scams: Elderly people are an easy target to cybercrimes in Coimbatore - Coimbatore Police

Cybercrime division raises awareness to elderly people, those receiving their pensions not to state their OTP to any stranger


Coimbatore: Cybercrime number are high in rural areas of Coimbatore and the police have advised people to be vigilant.

The fear and the innocence of the rural population, especially the elderly have facilitated modern thieves today, thus increasing cybercrime making them an easy target. They stated that people shall not at any cost share any details of the bank nor their OTP to any stranger. Similarly, frauds are also targeted those who receive pensions.

Cybercrime ADSP Sangu warned the people to be aware of such fraudulent acts.
