Hindu Munnani state leader Kadeswara Subramaniam urged the Govt. of Tamil Nadu to provide necessary assistance to make Ganesha Chaturthi festival a success
Coimbatore: A press conference was held on Friday at the Gandhipuram Hindu Munnani District Head Office.
The Hindu Munnani State leader, Kadeswara Subramaniam met the media and also issued a statement saying that the Tamil Nadu Government should provide the necessary assistance to celebrate the Ganesha Chaturthi festival.
The Secretary of State, J S Kishore Kumar accompanied by District Chairman K Dasarathan and District Secretary C Dhanapal were also present at the media briefing.
As a result of the efforts made by Veerathuruvi Rama Gopalan to take the Ganesha Chaturthi festival to the streets to spread devotion and patriotism in Tamil Nadu, the Ganesha Chaturthi festival has become a mass movement and has been celebrated on behalf of the Hindu Munnani for the last 40 years.
Moreover, the Ganesha Chaturthi festival aims to overcome inequalities in society. During the Ganesha Chaturthi festival, charitable services, sports competitions, cultural programs, various charitable activities are celebrated all over Tamil Nadu. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic that threatened the world from 2019, it was decided to keep the festival simple and hold no processions. As a result, the workers and traders who make a living from Ganesha Chaturthi festival season have been severely affected and have been thrown into poverty.
Due to the declining Coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu, the Government has allowed commercial establishments, theatres, amusement parks and open parks to operate as usual. And since the vast majority of people have been vaccinated, the Hindu Munnani movement has decided to hold the Ganesha Chaturthi festival by adhering to socail distancing and following all the Covid-19 preventive regulations.
The Hindu Munnani has decided to worship Ganesha in 1.25 lakh places across Tamil Nadu. The Ganesha Chaturthi festival is expected to be held as usual in the respective towns for about nine days. The 'Visarjan' procession will also take place in these places.
This year, the Ganesha Chathurthi festival will be held under the slogan 'Let's unite Hindus to guard the temples in Tamil Nadu.'
