A new post office and ration shop will soon be opened in the new building in Cheranmanagar
Coimbatore: Cheran Ma Nagar Government Transport Corporation Officers' housing unit is located on Vilankurichi Road. There are 568 houses in three sections namely A, B and C. Apart from this, there are over a thousand apartments in the surrounding areas of Cheran Ma Nagar thus significantly overpopulating the area compared to the past decade. A new post office and a ration shop will soon be set up for the benefit of the people living in Cheran Ma Nagar in the 32nd Ward, Coimbatore.
Sundarajan, Chairman, Cheran Ma Nagar Home Owners and Residents Union said, 'A new post office is currently being set up in Cheran Ma Nagar as people have been waiting for years for a post office to be set up. There was a corporation-owned building near the bus stop and the place was inspected and finalized by post office officials. The building has since been renovated and is now ready to be set up a post office. In addition, a new building has been constructed to set up a ration shop at a cost of Rs. 18 lakhs. Apart from this a passenger canopy is being set up near the sixth bus stop at a cost of Rs. 7 lakhs. Currently, people have to go to post offices in Saravanampatti and Peelamedu but now with the new post office, people of Cheran Ma Nagar and its surroundings will be greatly benefited.'
