Coimbatore: Even as DVAC officials raided the residence of former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani on Tuesday, the former Minister's 50 premises in Chennai, Coimbatore and Dindigul were simultaneously being searched.
In response to the raids, suburban AIADMK Attorney General Damodaran said, "From 6.30 am to 5.30 pm on Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau led by Jayaseelan raided the house of former Minister S P Velumani.
That raid ended this evening. During the raid, only the security locker key was seized from the house of the former Minister Velumani. No money or material was seized. Also, it has been confirmed and signed and reported by the authorities."
When the media asked for a copy of the report, Damodaran said it could not be given at present. During his speech, AIADMK party leaders and cadres chanted that they were ready to face anything.
