A meeting of hotel owners was held at the Valparai Police Station under the chairmanship of the Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam. In the meeting it was advised that surveillance cameras must be set up in every hotel.
She added that unmarried males and females should not be allowed to stay in the hotel. Alcohol consumption in the hotel should be prohibited. Pamphlets were issued to the hostel owners with various restrictions such as that the vehicles of the tourists coming to the hotels should be parked without obstructing the traffic and this should be ensured by the hotel owners. The event was attended by a large number of hotel owners.
