Emphasis should be given to allotment of houses in Samathuwapuram for mixed marriages Writer Pamaran
Coimbatore: Writer Pamaran has requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to give importance to the allocation of houses in Samathuvapuram for mixed marriages. In a letter to the CM he said, 'We are very pleased to see that they have announced plans to improve and further expand the Periyar Memorial Samathuvapuram, which were brought to them by the artist Muthamizharignar with the aim of creating a caste-free egalitarian society. In Samathuvapuram, 40 per cent are Scheduled Castes, 25 per cent are Backward Classes, 25 per cent are Backward Classes and 10 per cent are other categories. They are not unaware that the goal of the project is an egalitarian environment in which all sections live together. However, in order to further enrich this, it is my humble opinion that it would be a meaningful plan for the Government of Tamil Nadu to issue a statement that 'those who marry out of caste are the most deserving to settle in Samathuvapuram'.
He said it must be added to the Periyar Memorial Samathuvapuram which is still in operation. He requested the new Samathuvapuram should incorporate inter intercaste marriages. Since cities and metropolitan areas are more likely to be the residences of such mixed marriages than villages, it would be beneficial for the countless households to include those living in municipalities, corporations, etc. He said Tamil Nadu governments should extend assistance to those who are already resettling from dilapidated houses.
He said Samathuvapurams most exuberant equality in all senses. The new Casteless Special Zone will be opened by them as 'Casteless Special Zones' inhabited only by mixed caste couples who have already realized the purpose of equality and proved it in their own lives.
They will be grateful to the government of Tamil Nadu if Samathuvapuram houses are set up with innumerable sophisticated facilities such as training centers for Tamil Nadu examinations and training classes for Indian civil service examinations, where others would yearn to settle here. He said they are the special zones that will make others realise that the people who marry outside caste will have a special place in the society and said it will surely serve as a guiding beacon not only for the neighbouring states but for all states in India.
