Additional restrictions were imposed today, Sunday, following the implementation of various new regulations from the 2nd to control the rising corona in the Coimbatore district.



Coimbatore: Various new regulations implemented to control the rising coronavirus cases in Coimbatore district and shops are allowed to operate only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m including shopping malls, tea shops, fish and meat shops, Tasmac stores, restaurants.

Surveillance has also been intensified at 13 check posts along the Coimbatore-Kerala border. Accordingly, those coming to Coimbatore from Kerala will be allowed to enter the district only if they have a compulsory Covid-19 negative certificate or a certificate of two doses of the vaccine. The district administration announced additional restrictions on Sunday. Except malls, multi-storey shopping malls, parks and essential shops in crowded areas like Crosscut Road, 100ft Road, Gandhipuram, Oppanakara Road, Ramamurthy Road, Saramedu Road, Rice Mill Road, Thudiyalur Junction in Coimbatore other shops are banned from operating.



Also, since it is the Tamil month of Aadi, public worship is prohibited in the important temples on the days of Aadi Krithika and Aadi Amavasai. Devotees are not allowed in most of the temples in Coimbatore district as people are more likely to gather at temples today ahead of the Aadi Amavasai Today, with the new regulations in place, major roads in Coimbatore, including the 100-foot road, are deserted, and corporation and police officials are taking action to impose fines on those who violate district administration orders.
