Attempt to steal 2 sovereign jewellery from Pollachi Cherannagar temple, next to three shops: Mahalingapuram police investigates


Coimbatore: The public who visited the Ganesha temple at the Cherannagar entrance in Pollachi-Coimbatore yesterday were shocked to find that the lock had been broken at the Amman sanctum in a part of the Ganesha temple.

It was then revealed that a gold jewellery was missing. Following this, the public informed the Mahalingapuram police. Following the information, the police went there and conducted an investigation and it was revealed that an attempt was made to rob the temple sanctum and 3 shops adjacent to the temple last night.



Preliminary investigation revealed that 2 sovereign jewels were stolen from the Amman temple sanctum in the temple and the theft did not take place in the shops as the shutters of the shops could not be broken. The Mahalingapuram police have registered a case in this regard and are searching for the unidentified persons involved in the serial theft.
