Fire Dept. officials tactfully capture viper snake from construction site at Kamarajar Nagar in Valparai

Fire Department catch a highly venomous viper snake from a construction site in Kamaraj, Valparai.


Coimbatore: Construction workers who saw a viper snake at the construction site in Kamarajar Nagar in Valparai, Coimbatore district immediately informed the Fire Department. A team of four officials led by Nagarajan caught the four-and-a-half foot viper snake that was hiding in the sandbag heap at the construction site, put in a sack and took the viper away to be released into the dense forest. The incident caused a stir in the area.



Vipers are among the most dangerous snakes, with a stocky body, a large head, and long, hinged fangs for injecting venom in the front of its mouth. The venom causes a serious and potentially lethal wound.

The Fire Department officials advised the public to be careful and to ensure there are no entry points for these vipers to seek cosy places in homes.
