32 fresh cases of Covid-19 recorded in Pollachi and Anaimalai

Coimbatore: Health officials have stated that 32 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Pollachi and Anaimalai on Wednesday. Since the onset of the Covid-19 second wave in Pollachi town and surrounding areas, though the spread of the disease had increased, the number of infections had dropped to less than 10 in the past few weeks due to the action of health and revenue officials.

But with 9 cases of Covid-19 in Pollachi, 5 in the North Union and 7 in the South Union being recorded, there seems to be a resurgence of Covid-19 in Coimbatore district. Health officials stated that overall 11 people in Anaimalai and 32 in Pollachi were infected with Covid-19. Hence, authorities are alarmed that Covid-19 could be on the rise again in urban and rural areas.
