A consultative meeting on Coronavirus Prevention Awareness and Protective measures was held at Coimbatore Corporation
Coimbatore: A consultative meeting was held at the Corporation Kalaiarangam in R S Puram under the chairmanship of the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopala Sunkara on the full compliance of businesses and customers with the Coronavirus Prevention Awareness Protection Practices in the Corporation.

'On the orders of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Coronavirus Prevention Awareness Week is being held from July 3 in Coimbatore. Merchants must abide by government protection measures such as wearing a face mask, social distancing and being vaccinated against Covid-19 to prevent infecting customers who visit their stores. All sales personnel and customers must compulsorily wear face masks. All merchants should be instructed to keep sanitisers at the shop entrance and ensure customers use it after entering the shop. Shops that do not follow Coronavirus prevention guidelines will be fined according to government guidelines. All businesses should cooperate fully with the activities of the government,' stated the Corporation Commissioner.

Following this, traders pledged under the leadership of the Corporation Commissioner who also personally inspected special paintings on the walls of the Central Zonal Office of the Coimbatore Corporation of Coimbatore depicting the life of the ancient Tamils.
The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of the Corporation, K Vimalraj, BST Welfare Officer Dr Raja, All Zonal Assistant Commissioners, Zonal Health Officers and Associations of Restaurants, Owners of Restaurants, Hostels, Vegetable Markets, Clothing Stores, Jewellers and Associations of Roadside Traders.
