It included environmental, forest and climate change, Tiger reserve protection management, security and civilian involvement. The team, set up by the National Tiger Conservation Commission, selected 28 tiger reserves in 20 states where tigers live.
Of these, 14 were approved by confirming security standards. In this, the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve in Pollachi and the Nilgiri Mudumalai Tiger Reserve have been recognized as world class tiger reserves and certified by the National Tiger Conservation Commission. Forest officials said they were pleased that the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve had been certified by the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
