Coronavirus control measures in Valparai on Aadi 18; Very few people visit temple.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government has banned worship and holy bathing in major temples across Tamil Nadu on the 18th of the Tamil month of Aadi, in Valparai, Coimbatore district. On 'Aadi 18' prayers are offered to ancestors on theriversides and newly-weds tie a new thali.

But this year, due to the Coronavirus scarfe, the entire temple complex and river areas were deserted without public movement. However, only a small number of people came to Valparai Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple for darshan. The temple staff provided hand sanitisers to the public and urged them to wear face masks. Those who did not wear face masks were sent back.
