Fire breaks out at plastic goods shop in commercial complex on Range Gowder Road in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A fire broke out at a shop in a four-storeyed commercial complex operating on Coimbatore Range Gowder Road, on Monday night. Plastic items worth several lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire.
A four-storeyed commercial complex on Range Gowder Road amidst the city's main business premises comrpised a plastic sales outlet owned by a businessman named Saleem. Last night, neighbours in the area immediately informed the fire department when they saw smoke billowing out of the complex.

Immediately, two fire engines arrived at the scene and more than 20 firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control.

It is reported that the plastic items in the store were gutted but no casualties have been reported because the shop was locked at night. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the value of plastic items gutted in the fire was worth Rs. 20 lakh.
