Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai had announced that the BJP should observe Chinnamalai Memorial Day to honour the freedom fighters of India and to commemorate the sacrifices they had made.
Hence, the memorial day of freedom fighter Deeran Chinnamalai was observed by the BJP at Kovilpalayam Kaliyannanpudur near Kinathukadavu. At the commemoration function held under the chairmanship of District Media Officer, Danabalakrishnan, a floral tribute was paid to the portrait of Dheeran Chinnamalai.
Later, Janavika, a Class 11 student spoke on the achievements and life of Dheeran Chinnamalai. Kovilpalayam Panchayat President Suresh Kumar, AIADMK executives Satish Kumar, Shanmugasundar, Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi executives Ramakrishnan, Prakash and many BJP executives were present.
