The consultative meeting was chaired by Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam. The district administration has announced various restrictions to control the spread of Coronavirus infections in Coimbatore district. Accordingly, grocery shops, vegetable and milk stores, and pharmacies are allowed to operate after 6 p.m. All other stores are only allowed to operate from 10 am to 5 pm.

It has also been advised that the district administration should monitor all departments to ensure compliance with the above regulations. In view of this, the traders in Valparai have to abide by all the restrictions announced by the Government. Police Inspector Karpagam asked traders to unload and load goods from vehicles and into their shops within the stipulated time. She also insisted that the wearing of face masks and social distancing must be followed.
The meeting was attended by Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam, Sub-Inspector Police and Traders Chamber of Commerce representatives and executives.
