Tirupur Corporation Commissioner warns public to be careful and not be complacent that second wave of Coronavirus is over
Tirupur: The Coronavirus helpdesk was launched on Monday at the Tirupur Thennampalayam Market amidst various other measures being taken by the Corporation administration to control the second wave of Covid-19 infections.
The District Collector and Corporation Commissioner, Kranthi Kumar attended the event to launch the help desk to create awareness among the public and traders in the market area.
In addition, the Corporation administration fined those not wearing masks and subjected them to a mandatory Covid-19 test.
Following this, the Commissioner of the Corporation, the District Collector and the Health Department officials took the Coronavirus Prevention Pledge. Afterwards, Corporation Commissioner Kranthi Kumar told reporters that precautionary measures were being taken to control the spread of the second wave and that a help desk would be set up at the Thennampalayam market to provide awareness to those who do not wear face masks and to raise awareness about the infection.
He said people are complacent that the Coronavirus second wave is over and are roaming around in a carefree manner. He also urged the public to follow Government guidelines systematically, in the realisation that relaxations have been granted for the purpose of livelihood and not to gallavant oblivious to the curfew imposed for safety. He also asked traders to take steps to sell products by informing their customers about the opening hours of the shops so as to avoid overcrowding.
