Various criminals arrested in police storming operation in Coimbatore's Gandhipuram area

Various criminals were arrested in the police storming operation conducted in Coimbatore's Gandhipuram area under the orders of the City Police Commissioner.


Coimbatore: On the orders of the City Commissioner of Police, Deepak M Damor, police officials from Katoor police station in Gandhipuram area of Coimbatore engaged in a storming operation on Saturday, divided into different groups.

Various criminals have been arrested in this storming operation.

According to a press release, "In 2021, under the direction of the Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police, Deepak M Damor, a storming operation was carried out in the Gandhipuram area in the city to prevent crime and illegal activities in the areas bordering the C1 Katoor police station. The police are carrying out vehicle inspections around all the hostels in the area, as well as important areas in the city to locate and take action against those selling illegal gutka tobacco products and ganja.

A team of 3 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 5 Police Inspectors, 10 Assistant Inspectors and 130 Constables were engaged in these intensive patrols to investigate and prosecute ex-offenders, illegal spa owners and two-wheeler thieves. During this special patrol which was conducted from 5 pm to 7.30 pm on Saturday, minor cases of motor vehicle thefts were registered. Also, a two-wheeler was confiscated due to lack of documents. A case has been registered against those involved in illegal activities."

The Coimbatore City Police said the intensive surveillance would continue in the days to come in Coimbatore.
