The Saravanampatti police patrolled near a college on Thudiyalur Road yesterday. At that time, 3 persons who were standing suspiciously were arrested and interrogated. It was found that they had 5 kg of ganja. They were arrested in connection with this. The investigation revealed that they were Arjun (23) from Uppilipalayam and Karthik (25) and Selvapuram Poovendran from Singanallur Boyar Road.
Of these, Poovendran fled and the other two were arrested by police. The ganja was confiscated and further investigation is ongoing. Similarly, Peelamedu police led by Sub-Inspector Rajkumar were on patrol. At that time, they caught and searched the youths who were standing suspiciously in the vacant space in the Cheran Managar area.
It was revealed that they had 3.750 kg of ganja packets for sale. They were both brought in and interrogated. The investigation also revealed that Manikandan is the son of Rajkumar from Peelamedu area and Pusari Mani (23) and Balamurali Krishnan (25) is the son of Govindaraj from the Masakalipalayam area. Both were subsequently arrested and imprisoned.
