The Valparai - Malakkappara Road is used by a large number of tourists to see Athirapally Falls. Malakkappara - Chalakudy road was damaged due to heavy rains and was unusable.
The 10 feet bridge on the way from Valparai to Malakkappara Chalakudy in Kerala was damaged due to landslides caused by rain at Chandanpuri.

Aware of this, Thrissur District Collector Haritha V Kumar and her team inspected the site.

The district Collector then told the contractor to repair the road within three days, at least to the extent that small vehicles could pass. She also said that Malakkappara tea plantation workers should be provided with an ambulance to go to the government hospital.Deputy Collector Sufiyaan Ahmed, District Panchayat President PK David Mushtar also participated in the inspection.
