Karthik (24) is the son of Murugan, a resident of CMC Colony, Variety Hall Road, Coimbatore. He is working as a corporation cleaner in Coimbatore. He was returning home from work last evening. Three people were sitting near his apartment drinking alcohol. Seeing this, Karthik warned them not to sit in a public place and drink alcohol.
Following this, Karthik was standing near his house last night talking to friends. The persons whom he had warned not to drink alcohol came there and got involved in a dispute and started attacking Karthik. They took nearby stones and threw them in Karthik's face. Karthik sustained serious injuries to his face, arms and legs.
Neighbors rescued him and admitted him to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. Following a complaint lodged with Karthik in Variety Hall Road police station, the police arrested Nagaraj (37), son of Vijayan from the same area who assaulted Karthik, and Madurai Veeran (30).
