Awareness campaign through loudspeaker on behalf of the Forest Department in Valparai
Coimbatore: Following the death of a man after bear attack in Valparai in the last few days, an awareness campaign was launched through a loudspeaker on behalf of the forest department in order to protect the public from wildlife.
One person has died after being attacked by a bear in Valparai, Coimbatore district for the past few days and another is being treated in Coimbatore with serious injuries. The incident has caused a stir and panic in Valparai. Following this, the forest department advised the public not to wander outside unnecessarily at key locations, including the Valparai Gandhisilai areas, through loudspeakers in vehicles, and asked to avoid walking at night and to avoid children and the elderly walking alone.
Wildlife watchers have also announced phone numbers to immediately inform the forest department.
