A woman who was involved in prostitution at home in Selvapuram area yesterday was rescued and sent to custody. Two women were arrested by police. Police said the Selvapuram police received information that prostitution was taking place at home in the Amul Nagar area of Selvapuram.
Following this, the police conducted a raid on the house concerned. Police have arrested and jailed a 36-year-old woman from Selvapuram Amul Nagar area and a 35-year-old woman from Sukunapuram area for allegedly involving women there for prostitution. Following the confirmation that prostitution was taking place there, they rescued a 34-year-old woman from Ukkadam who was staying there for prostitution and sent her to custody.
