Coimbatore: Coimbatore: A Coimbatore court yesterday sentencedman for raping a 7-year-old girl to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment and ordered to give Rs 2 lakh to a victim in Coimbatore. Frightened parents admitted the 7-year-old girl to the hospital after seeing bleeding from her genitals in Coimbatore in 2019. It was then revealed that the girl had been sexually abused.
They informed the Coimbatore All Women Police station and filed a case under the POCSO sections and conducted an investigation. In it, it was revealed that Senthil Prabhu, a fisherman from Coimbatore, sexually abused the girl. Senthilkumar was booked and arrested under 3 sections including POCSO. The case was heard in the Coimbatore POCSO Special Court. Following the conclusion of the trial, Senthil Prabhu was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs. 2 lakhs
Judge Ravi also ordered the court to pay Rs 2 lakh compensation to the victim on behalf of the government. Senthil Prabhu was lodged in the Coimbatore Central Jail. Senthilkumar has been booked in more than 10 theft cases at the Coimbatore City Police Station.
