Traffic police imposes fine on 35 people for speeding disregarding speed limiter placed on road in Coimbatore

35 people were fined Rs 400 each for driving more than 30 km without following speed limit procedures.



Coimbatore: The new speed limit in Coimbatore came into effect yesterday. A fine of Rs 400 each was imposed on 35 persons who drove vehicles for more than 30 km. The City Police is taking various measures to prevent casualties in the accident in Coimbatore. Part of it is speed bumps on the roads. They have advised to drive only at a speed of 30 kmph within the city. From Gandhipuram to Ganapathy, 100 ft Road, Cross Cut Road, Bharathiar road, Sukwarpet, Crosscut Road, from Avinashi Road to flyover, from Vysial Road to Selvapuram, speed limit will be 30 km / h. Permission has been granted to drive vehicles at a speed of 40 kmph on the roads in Coimbatore.

Those who drove at speeds higher than the prescribed speed were fined. Traffic police monitored the speed of vehicles with a modern speedometer called a speed radar gun. Police detect vehicles from a distance of 100 meters and impose fines. A fine of Rs. 400 was imposed on 35 persons who went too fast. Traffic police said these actions would continue.
