14 arrested in Coimbatore on orders of Coimbatore SP for selling tobacco, liquor bottles and lottery illegally.
Coimbatore: Various preventive measures are being taken under the vigilant leadership of District Superintendent of Police, Selvanagarathinam to curb the increasing sale of tobacco, liquor bottles and lottery tickets in Coimbatore. As patrols and surveillance work intensified in various parts of the district, 14 people were arrested on Thursday for selling liquor, tobacco and lottery tickets in a single day.
Police detailed the following cases registered during the raids conducted on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police.

Arrested persons: 3
Seizure details: 54 bottles
Tobacco packet cases
Cases registered: 8
Arrested persons: 8
Seizure Details: 84 Packets
Lottery ticket cases
Cases registered: 3
Arrested persons: 3
Seizure details: Rs. 400 and two mobile phones.
The above cases have been registered and action has been taken. The memo stated that the District Superintendent of Police had issued orders to the authorities to take stern action against persons involved in such illegal activities.
